Training of CREEC staff in Egypt
From the 8th to 19th December 2013 Moses Kakooza, Dorothe Lsoto and Elizabeth Begumisa from CREEC attended training with the topic “Solar Energy Technology and Energy Efficiency” at the New and Renewable Energy Authority offices in Cairo, Egypt. The training was funded by the Ministry of Electricity and Energy for the Arab Republic of Egypt in partnership with Uganda’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development.
Areas of training included solar thermal and solar photovoltaic systems, energy storage, wind energy, energy efficiency as well as planning and management of renewable energy projects.
Within the training a combined solar thermal and gas power plant, a wind farm, a grid connected solar photovoltaic system and testing facilities were visited.
Beside the three trainees from CREEC the training was attended by people from the Nile Basin Countries of Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo and Sudan
