This training equipped our technicians with skills and knowledge to improve the work carried out in our testing facilities. All the participants from CREEC are actively involved in the CREEC- Regional Testing and Knowledge Centre that is recognized by the UNBS laboratory recognition scheme under ISO 17025. The topics from this training were very timely as CREEC is currently on the advisory board for cooking testing standards for Uganda. Some of the topics included:

• Introduction to designing their own quality improvement project
• General principles of Quality Management Systems
• Work on designing their own quality improvement project
• The pathway to achieving Good Laboratory Practice

Participants also ensured to knowledge transfer by organizing a session at CREEC for sharing lessons learned and new practices that can be adopted by our testing facility.
