CREEC SIGNS MOU WITH UGANDA NATIONAL METEOROLOGICAL ASSOCIATION
On the 17th January 2019, the Centre for Research in Energy and Energy Conservation (CREEC) signed an MoU with the Uganda National Meteorological Association (UNMA). The main objective of this MoU is for UNMA to partner with CREEC in the areas of Capacity building, Research & Development, Operation & Maintenance and Data sharing. The idea of closer cooperation between the parties with regard to weather and climate data collection and management will enable the two entities to jointly collect and promote usage of climate information,engage in carrying out joint studies and equipment calibration of various weather stations installed, co-produce weather and climate weather information on agreed products and jointly install, operate and maintain CREEC weather stations.

This partnership will enable us to cooperatively support research work and studies in climate related topics, carry out capacity building and awareness creation programs jointly in the areas of meteorology, provide advisory service to private sector and the general public in the areas of meteorology and organise joint programs/activities under Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives. CREEC has committed herself to carrying out applied research which has greatly benefited the innovativeness in renewable energy related programs and this partnership compliments the centre’s vision.
