The CREEC Solar trainings continue to address the critical need for high-quality, local, accessible training in solar installation and related skills. These periodic trainings started in 2016 and have allowed for trainees and job seekers looking to install solar systems to meet the ever-changing market demands especially in regions where solar energy is rapidly expanding. From 7th -11th November 2016, participants from different areas in the country participated in the second periodic solar training at CREEC.

We interviewed some of the trainees who described there experience below;

28year old Katongole Henry is a technician working with Anuel Energy. “This training has enabled me to make accurate calculations when making surveys and also when making quotations. I have an electrical background but this training has enabled me to advance to solar installations.” he said when asked about his experience in the training. “I am interested in having advanced installations being tackled in the future trainings” he advises.

George Settala another participant from Innovex recommends for CREEC to help participants select a site where practical installations can be done during the training. “This will help participants to grasp the installation concepts better than using the practical installation boards.
