CREEC BUILDING CAPACITY FOR BIOGAS TECHNICIANS IN MBARARA
On 19th October 2016, CREEC held a biogas business development training for managers, technicians and supervisors of biogas companies in Ruhaaro off Mbarara Bushenyi road. As we continue to encourage the use of modern types of energy, it is important to ensure that people are readily positioned with the appropriate skills to grab the opportunities available.

The three day training addressed issues like conditions affecting the biogas business and the importance of assessing competition and how this can help one identify where their businesses stand in comparison to other competitors, assess strengths and weaknesses. The main aim of this training was to help the trainees identify market segments, enable preparation and development of business plans and to increase preparedness as regards to opportunities and threats. This training helped the participants to appreciate biogas as a business while also enabling them to find new opportunities with the biogas sector.

The training proved to be a timely program as members were equipped with relevant new skills and knowledge that they were more than enthusiastic to implement in their businesses. This training is under the UNOPS project which aims to enhance income generation, job creation and economy greening through awareness creation with regard to biomass based green technologies, capacity building on green energy generation commercialization and utilization, green energy business development and up scaling and engagement with policy decision makers for favorable policy direction.
