CREEC BIOENERGY TECHNICIANS UNDERGO TRAINING
The CREEC Regional Testing and Knowledge Centre team underwent a training with Dr. James Jetter from the United States Environmental Protection Agency that covered “Cookstoves Research and Testing”. The week long training that started 22nd to 26th August 2016 has boosted CREEC’s stove testing capabilities and has positioned the centre to do even more stove tests, offer a better service of clients while tapping into a new market with skills to match.

Some of the areas covered in the training include;
-Stove testing set up and operation
-Equipment maintenance
-Equipment calibration and quality checks
-Fundamentals of stove testing
-Test method validation
-Stove testing practicals
-Data flow and data analysis
The stovetesting centre which has just upgraded its laboratories with state of the art equipment continues to build their capacity to meet the client’s needs. With this capacity, CREEC has also added new tests to list including black carbon testing.
