In a groundbreaking move towards advancing sustainable energy solutions across Africa and beyond, the Centre for Research in Energy and Energy Conservation (CREEC), Pilot International, and Franosev Smart Consulting have entered into a strategic partnership. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the journey to revolutionize renewable energy innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology advancement.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed on January 7, 2025, underscores the shared commitment of the three entities to empower energy entrepreneurs, promote clean technologies, and support women-led enterprises. By pooling their collective expertise, resources, and networks, these organizations aim to drive scalable innovations that address the pressing energy challenges of our time.
Uniting Expertise for a Common Cause
CREEC, housed at Makerere University, has long been at the forefront of Uganda’s transition to sustainable energy through its cutting-edge Bioenergy and Solar Labs. The institution will bring its technical expertise in energy efficiency, clean energy technologies, and renewable energy entrepreneurship to the table.
Pilot International, a globally recognized development organization, leverages its extensive network spanning over 100 countries to champion sustainable development initiatives. With flagship platforms like the Women Entrepreneurship Forum Africa (WEFA) and the Trans Africa Investment Summit, Pilot International provides the partnership with unparalleled access to advocacy, mentorship, and funding opportunities.
Meanwhile, Dr. Nosayaba Evbuomwan of Franosev Smart Consulting, a distinguished Chartered Structural Engineer and mentor, will contribute through mentorship, advanced training, and linking the partnership to international funding and research opportunities. His vision for smart, sustainable communities complements the objectives of this alliance.

The partnership is set to focus on key areas, including testing and validation of renewable energy technologies, capacity building, and joint research and development (R&D) initiatives.
