FAECAL SLUDGE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP HOSTED BY CREEC

The Sludge Energy Enterprises in Kampala (SEEK) business development workshop was hosted by CREEC on 18TH May 2016 in the CEDAT boardroom. The SEEK project is a partnership of EAWAG, CREEC, Bioburn, Makerere University and National Water and Sewerage Cooperation (NWSC). The main goal of the project is making resource recovery based solutions to waste management a reality, providing new business opportunities and improving public and private health. Under this partnership, the project turns poorly managed landfills and faecal sludge dumped directly into the environment into faecal sludge briquettes which are compatible with clean cook stoves.

The business development training focused teaching the stakeholders how to create value for their customers and how to build customer relationships that can grow the business, market segmentation and understanding distribution channels. The training also highlighted the need to understand the competition and ensuring that the product meets the needs of the customers. The training was meant to empower the various stakeholders with skills to enable them to take their businesses to the next level. With an extensive experience and knowledge in renewable energy and energy efficiency CREEC has got the capacity to offer business development training to meet the needs of the client.
