CREEC ATTENDS CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION STRATEGIES COURSE IN SINGAPORE

CREEC attended a Climate change adaptation Strategies course in Singapore starting…..The course conducted by Singapore Environmental Institute (SEI), National Environmental Agency focused on Climate change as a science and relates it human activity over the years. The course also delved into the requisite skills of assessing the possible adverse effects of climate change and from the experience CREEC will be able to find practical approaches towards adaptation and mitigation. This was done especially by drawing mostly on Singapore’s rich experience in clean, green and sustainable development.

The numerous roadmaps, standards and guidelines developed for a sustainable Singapore in the energy, water and sanitation as well as transport sectors were discussed and shared. The course was concluded with an assignment to identify which visible climate change impacts have manifested in Uganda. The task then would be to identify the various stakeholders and practical approaches towards adaptation and mitigation of the same. This course indeed has supported CREEC to appreciate the relevance of Renewable energy towards sustainable development in line with Climate change adaptation and mitigation from the very scientific point of view. This will also help to boost the structure of the sustainable programs that are currently running at the centre.
